The compact or prefabricated substation also referred to as a box-type substation, is an integrated power distribution unit, consisting of electrical components such as transformers, high and low-voltage switchgear, and control equipment in a closed structure. They are designed to provide reliable, compact energy distribution and are enclosed in rugged, weatherproof enclosures that can be mounted outdoors in industrial, residential, and commercial areas. Rugged construction means the presence of environmental factors such as moisture, dust, and high temperatures does nothing to diminish their performance, while advanced insulation and ventilation systems help ensure safety and performance still reach their highest levels. Prefabricated, it is usually delivered to an installation site, where it is installed relatively quickly due to its space-saving design, easy transportation, and fast installation. The compact transformer substation is an enclosed unit that operates by converting and distributing electricity within it.
