FRP Capacitive Transformer Bushing is an insulating component through the earth enclosure of a transformer, which permits the secure and smooth passage of the electrical conductors between grounded enclosures. This bushing is made of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) to provide outstanding mechanical strength, low weight, and resistance to moisture, UV exposure, and chemical corrosion. Using the capacitive design, our product incorporates advanced dielectric grading to evenly spread the electric field and minimize stress where electric field stress is at the highest levels — increasing reliability and reducing the risk of partial discharges or insulation breakdown. A combination of the FRP core and layers of high-quality insulation materials account for long-term operational stability even under extreme electrical and mechanical stress. For applications using power transformers that are subject to severe environments, this type of bushing is well suited, combining durability with exact electrical performance. Furthermore, the material properties of the FRP enable superior performance in comparison to traditional materials, such as porcelain, concerning impact resistance and ease of installation.
However, FRP capacitive transformer bushings are very versatile and can be used on a variety of transformers, provided that equipment design, voltage class, and operating environment meet specific design considerations. Because of their excellent dielectric properties, lightweight construction, and resistance to harsh environments, these bushings are particularly suitable for high-voltage transformers.
However, not all transformers may utilize FRP capacitive bushings. For example:
Low-Voltage Transformers: It’s these that don’t usually need capacitive bushings, as insulation needs aren’t so critical.
Specialized Transformers: Sizes, material preferences, or specific technical standards may dictate that the transformer designed for a specific application is designed with different bushing designs.
Wherever possible, FRP capacitive bushings are compatible with all types of transformers, but their use is ideal for high voltage and medium voltage transformers that can operate in harsh environments, and where high reliability, advanced electric field management, and environmental durability are needed. The transformer’s voltage rating and the desired apparatus insulation should combine to specify the proper selection.
Applicable to areas with an altitude of 2000m or less. When the altitude exceeds 2000m, the technical conditions shall be negotiated by both parties
